改訂の柱は、運用力の向上と時代の流れにそぐわない言葉や場面の変更です。 学習者や教育現場のご意見を尊重し、従来の「学びやすく、教えやすい」教科書の構成を守り、まだ練習や問題を拡充しました。単に指示に従って受動的に練習を行うのではなく、状況を自分で把握し、考えて表現する産出力の強化を図りました。そのために、イラストを多用しました。
